This comfortable and friendly hotel originally built in the early 19th century is immortalised in James Joyce’s masterpiece, ‘Ulysses’. Standard rooms are in the original Georgian building, while the contemporary modern block at the back of the hotel contains Executive rooms, Premier Club rooms and Suites. As of 1 July 2008, the North Star Hotel only has non-smoking rooms. Certain rooms have balconies and terraces where smoking is permitted. Except for the hotel’s beer garden, all other public areas are non-smoking in accordance with Irish law.
